Our client, a retail company, is looking for a District Manager (east Toronto territory).

In this role, you will be responsible for 7 stores and you will report to the Regional Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Achieve all key financial objectives established
• Ensure Store Managers are reacting to sales, traffic trends and wage cost.
• Analyze and review with each store weekly traffic, customer/SA ratios, closing ratio and sales productivity statistics.
• Conduct store visits seasonally with each Store Manager to assess all aspects of the store business.
• Identify regional/store opportunities and implements action plans to generate sales.
• Ensure all stores maintain and comply with all corporate directives Marketing, Merchandising, Visual, Human Resources, Loss Prevention.
• Provide information to Merchandising team to ensure that the inventory mix meets store profile.
• Maintain a performing team through ongoing coaching, training and development.
• Manage the Performance Management cycle by conducting Annual Appraisals, 3 Month Appraisals and the Mid-Year Reviews.
• Networks, recruits and selects the best people.
• Organizes and delivers regional and area meetings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 2 years in a District Manager position in retail
• A minimum of 5 years in a Store Manager position
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Innovative thinker with excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to target, plan and execute initiatives in a timely manner
• Strong commitment level to get the job done 
• Required to travel to stores in his/her region (east part of Toronto)
• In this position your own vehicle is required
