Resurgence Theatre Company is a professional company striving to resurge the classics and ignite new and contemporary theatre productions in York Region. Based in Newmarket, Ontario just 40 minutes north of Toronto, the company produces the annual York Shakespeare Festival at Fairy Lake Park in July and August. In addition, Resurgence is committed to providing educational and professional development opportunities for youth. Programs such as the Summer Youth Theatre Conservatory and the Shakespeare Educational Outreach Program provide thousands of young people ages 10 to 18 from across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area with access to training from professional actors, directors and designers.
