Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruitment Division client, a financial planning firm in Etobicoke, is looking to add a Wealth Advisor to their team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of advising high net worth private clients on their overall net worth using a financial planning approach to understand their clients’ goals and then aligning their wealth to meet these goals. 
 
The Wealth Advisor will likely have a modest, but growing, loyal client base who will be anticipated to follow their advisor to a higher level fiduciary advice/service model.  The successful candidate will see the merit of improving their current clients’ services, while tapping into the unique partnership model that this firm has with several CPA firms to expand their client base and assets under management.

OVERVIEW

This is a salaried role, with an exceptional bonus component for growth of clients and assets under management (AUM), as well as an overall team bonus and over time the opportunity to earn an equity position in the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First transition existing loyal, suitable clients to the higher level service platform. 
  • Focus on representing this firm’s services, accredited investment pools and insurance products to the clients of its partnered CPA firms, as well as directly to other high net worth prospective clients. 
  • Meet activity expectations and to achieve forecast results. A key aspect of compensation is linked to meeting and exceeding expectations of client and AUM growth. 
  • Articulate the fiduciary level service platform, and investment philosophy in a clear, concise and easy to understand manner – one on one, or in group face-to-face or online presentations. 
  • Use a systematic business development methodology to manage your sales funnel productively. You will maintain a consistent follow-up by email, social media and phone; without resorting to cold-calling.
  • Conduct Initial Assessment & Evaluations for prospective clients and when prospects are committed to proceeding with our services to work with our administrative staff, to prepare accurate and organized account opening documentation. 
  • Ongoing client management will be provided for assigned clients with an pro-active client review process.

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • Completion of the CIM, or Level 1 of the CFA Program
  • Completion of the CFP program is a definite asset
  • Wealth management business development experience preferred
  • Achievement oriented – driven to perform and accomplish your goals
  • Willing to ‘own’ decisions and tasks
  • Detail oriented, thorough and organized
  • Personable - able to meet new people and win them over
  • Dynamic, self-motivated & articulate
KEY QUALIFICATIONS TO BE ACHIEVED IN FIRST THREE YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Completion of CFP Designation
  • Completion of Associate Portfolio Manager registration
  • Completion of Life/ Disability Insurance registration
