Job Description:

Our client, a public accounting firm in North York, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to add to their team. 
  • Engagement type will be focused on the audit of for profit and not for profit organizations with revenues up to $70,000,000 per annum
  • Preparation of corporate tax returns (T2) and related schedules (T1134, T1135, T106), various information slips (T3, T4, T5), charity information returns (T3010), information returns (T1044) and personal tax returns (T1)
  • Engagements experience will be available for wide variety of industry group

Job Requirements:

  • A fully qualified CPA (CPA, CA) or nearing qualification
  • 3-5 years of public practice experience with Canadian Private Companies
  • Well-developed working and academic knowledge of ASPE, ASNFPO, CAS and the Canadian Income Tax Act
  • Knowledge of the accounting guidelines and taxation needs for Canadian private companies (strong knowledge of ASPE and the income tax act is desirable) and also Canadian not-for-profit organizations (knowledge of ASNFPO)
  • Experience working on audits, reviews and notice to reader engagements for the above client types
  • Experience with preparation of annual year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns and/or charity information returns
  • Willing to provide ongoing coordination and communication during the year for clients
  • Willing to plan and budget for year-end engagements and work in small teams
  • Working knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep software
  • Detail oriented and good time management skills
  • A self starter with proven self-organization
  • A keen eye for detail and focus on quality
