Job Description:

The primary responsibility for this role is to accelerate and apply the implementation of our Computerized Maintenance Management System. This role will be heavily involved in the support and execution of maintenance work including working with outside vendors for supplied components, 3rd party organizations to supply services, and the organization and replenishment of in house spare parts and components. Additional responsibilities revolve around supporting the manufacturing engineering team to improve equipment utilization and up-time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (%)
  • Accelerate the implementation and use of our CMMS. Involves evaluating and augmenting the existing system database with information to improve maintenance performance – 30%
  • Designate, organize and setup a maintenance critical spares program – 20%
  • Compile, enter work orders, report, and recommend actions to improve downtime/up-time performance – 15%
  • Facilitate completion of maintenance work with approved 3rd party resources – 15%
  • Work with OEMs, distributors and procurement to ensure components are in place appropriately to support maintenance work and critical spares. 10%
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned – 10 %

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • 1-3 years related experience in maintenance support function
  • Experience setting up and managing equipment and facility spare parts inventories
  • Experience facilitating maintenance work through the use of outside services and/or contractors
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and maintenance principles
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively, average verbal communication skills.
  • Blueprint reading ability
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and is a self-starter
  • Ability to collaborate with others; ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical machine components
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (JDE) preferred
  • Exhibits a positive and mature attitude.
  • Ability to accurately search and entry data
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities
  • Mechanically inclined
