Job Description: has partnered with our client located in North York in their search for an Accounting Assistant.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clerical office support activities for multiple staff ensuring timely adherence and deadlines
  • Supporting professional staff with preparation of financial statements package and letters to the government
  • Supporting professional staff with internal request for files, information, communicating with client, etc.
  • Uphold electronic and paper filing systems
  • Managing personal tax season by completing various administrative tasks
  • Portal management - downloading documents and uploading information to the client as needed
  • Updating workflow program on time and ensuring smooth process
  • Communicate in a professional manner with clients and internal staff via email, phone and in person.
  • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks such as preparing invoices, processing payments from clients and bank deposits
  • Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of internal programs and processes
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Participate in coordination of team social events
  • Maintain and monitor office supply inventory levels and place orders as required
  • Provide backup for other administrative staff as required
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Completion of related post-secondary education in office administration or accounting is required.
  • Two to three years of related experience required; public accounting firm experience is an asset
  • Strong communication skills – ability to expresses ideas and convey information in business writing, conversations and interactions with others
  • Exceptional client service skills - understand the importance of quality client service by being courteous, responding to client requests in a timely manner and monitoring satisfaction
  • Motivated team player - working collaboratively with team members in order to achieve a common goal, developing and maintaining effective work relationships
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, high volume environment
