Job Description:
Torontojobs.ca has partnered with our client located in North York in their search for an Accounting Assistant.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of administrative and clerical office support activities for multiple staff ensuring timely adherence and deadlines
Supporting professional staff with preparation of financial statements package and letters to the government
Supporting professional staff with internal request for files, information, communicating with client, etc.
Uphold electronic and paper filing systems
Managing personal tax season by completing various administrative tasks
Portal management - downloading documents and uploading information to the client as needed
Updating workflow program on time and ensuring smooth process
Communicate in a professional manner with clients and internal staff via email, phone and in person.
Perform basic bookkeeping tasks such as preparing invoices, processing payments from clients and bank deposits
Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required
Develop a thorough understanding of internal programs and processes
Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
Participate in coordination of team social events
Maintain and monitor office supply inventory levels and place orders as required
Provide backup for other administrative staff as required
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Completion of related post-secondary education in office administration or accounting is required.
Two to three years of related experience required; public accounting firm experience is an asset
Strong communication skills – ability to expresses ideas and convey information in business writing, conversations and interactions with others
Exceptional client service skills - understand the importance of quality client service by being courteous, responding to client requests in a timely manner and monitoring satisfaction
Motivated team player - working collaboratively with team members in order to achieve a common goal, developing and maintaining effective work relationships
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Effectively manage multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and able to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, high volume environment
