Intermediate Accounting Technician

We are seeking an experienced accounting technician to work with our public accounting client located in the Markham area. Duties and requirements are as follows:

• Preparation and completion of working papers, financial statements and tax returns for compilation and review engagements for clients in a variety of businesses
• Accurate and efficient preparation of bookkeeping and payroll
• Preparation of regular external filings such as calculating and preparing GST/HST returns
• Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist clients with accounting software, bookkeeping, and data entry as required

• Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience with bookkeeping
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload and multiple tasks
• Experience with investment write ups is an asset
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks; CaseWare/CaseView and TaxPrep is a definite asset
• Experience in a public accounting firm is considered an asset; however, is not an absolute requirement
