Our client, an Engineering firm, in the Brampton area is seeking the immediate services of an HR Generalist to assist their team. This HR Generalist opportunity is a new role with the company, so it most definitely has the potential to start of temporary and transition to full-time. As the HR Generalist, your duties include but not limited to the following: Employee Engagement: Develop, Implement and Maintain Programs to foster more employee engagement and positive attitudes; Participate in Activities that may require employees to change attitudes or behaviors, such as CI initiatives; Factory-Management Relations (Grievance Meetings, Safety Committee, Union Negotiations) ; Walk Around Program – Talk to every employee on a regular basis to learn about personal issues, stresses, things they find to be positive, their idealized image of how things should be that underlie negative comments. Performance Management: Develop, Implement and Maintain a performance management systems for Factory, Office and Management Staff including implementation of steps to improve performance; Compensation Policies; Factory and Office Training/Cross-Training and Skill Development programs. Compliance: Ensure Manuals, Policies and Practices Comply with Statutory Requirements; Updated Job Descriptions and Employee Manuals; Pay Equity. Recruitment: Assist Line Managers when hiring new staff; Succession and Career Path Planning. As the strong candidate for this on-going opportunity you must possess five or more years of HR experience with excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships. Experience with Union Negotiations and Grievances is mandatory. Exceptional problem-solving, Emotional Intelligence and Performance Management skills are also required.
