SAT Metals offers one stop solution for fabrication needs. We strive to fabricate and manufacture quality, professional metal products and applications. We are also member of the Canadian Welding Bureau CWB Certified to CSA Standard W47.1 in division 2. We specialized in creating custom welding design and fabrication for a wide variety of industries and residential projects. We use the highest quality material and customized designs on all the work that we do. We create long lasting fabrications that will be able to stand for a long time.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Under the authority of the Accounting controller, your main mandate will be to approve the shop drawings of all the technicians in charge of the project :
 
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate welding projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
  • Prepare and submit welding project budget estimates
  • Plan and prepare welding schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients,
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Direct the purchase of materials
  • Support the technicians
  • Receive plans or request plans for construction
  • Provide training and technical assistance to the technicians in charge of the project in the execution of their work
  • Perform verification of shop drawings according to plans and standards
  • Ensure the quality of the work performed by the technicians in charge of the project
  • Participate in site meetings with the Accounting controller, at the request of the contractor
  • Provide solutions to the Account controller, aimed at improving and optimizing the efficiency of the technicians in charge of the project
  • Perform an audit and coordination of welding projects, detailed externally
  • Produce end of project documents
  • Perform all other tasks compatible with your duties.
 
PREFERRED SKILLS:
 
  • A university degree engineering, architecture or a college diploma in building drafting or other relevant training;
  • Several years of experience in the welding industry
 
  • In-depth knowledge of reading and understanding drawings;
  • Possess notions of reinforcing steel;
  • Good management of priorities and respect of deadlines;
  • Ability to work under pressure and in collaboration with the various actors involved.
 
BENEFITS: 
  • Salary: 23$ hourly
  • 1 day off per week and 3 weeks vacation a year
  • Vacation pay is 4% of earnings in the entitlement year
  • SAT Metal pays half of the required contributions to the Canadian Pension Plan
 
SCHEDULE:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Saturday
  • 40 hours a week
