Node.js / React / Javascript Developer

TorontoJobs.ca has partnered with a client, an online start-up in Markham in their search for a Node.Js developer to work on the backend API as well as the front end application. The chosen candidate will be one of the first employees working with a small team and will have the opportunity to dabble in different roles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work on Node.js API
• Integrate with 3rd party services
• Triage and fix issues
• Document API
• Collaborate with our agile team
• Communicate with team on MS Teams
• Attend daily stand-up meetings
• Provide input and ideas that solve problems

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering
• 3+ years node.js and Express
• 2+ years API development experience
• Typescript
• Knowledge of REST API design
• Experience in resilient and scalable applications
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Interpersonal skills - being able to get along and collaborate with others
• Flexibility and adaptability - being able to pivot as needed
• Accountability - taking ownership of your work
• Creative - being able to think outside the box

Nice to have:

• Node.js ORM
• React experience
• Azure or amazon WS
• Experience in DevOps
• Knowledge of containerization technologies
• Various JS toolsets ex(ES6+, Webpack, Yarn, Lerna, Linters & Loggers)
• Experience with authentication standards such as OAuth and OIDC
