Your role:

As Maintenance Journeyman Millwright you will be responsible for ensuring optimum asset health by maintaining, repairing, inspecting and modifying equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner. To succeed, you must be able to:

Your responsibilities:

  • Work with conveyors, bucket elevators, rotary valves (air locks), blowers, roller mills and bulk handling systems.
  • Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
  • Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
  • Perform scheduled preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on facility assets.
  • Respond to equipment breakdown calls and perform repairs to machinery & plant support systems including pneumatic, hydraulic & mechanical repairs; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
  • Work independently on troubleshooting machinery, with minimal supervision.
  • Read and comply with work orders, update spare parts data and report in Maintenance database.
  • Work effectively with other team members.
  • Participate in meetings and training activities.
  • Participate in the plant safety program.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including minor mechanical repairs
  • Understand and comply with workplace safety and food safety regulations.
  • Successful millwright candidates will have the skills & experience required to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments, work safely & independently or as part of a small team.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Possession of Millwright Journeyman ticket and/or 5-10 years experience performing PMs and equipment repairs
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Millwright Journeyman performing PMs and equipment repairs
  • Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process and Predictive Technologies
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Assist in formulating calibration standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery
  • Welding and fabrication abilities
  • Working knowledge of power transmission and precision maintenance methods
  • Basic knowledge of all industry safety, food safety, and environmental regulations and requirements
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job and provide documented personal tool list

 

Good to have:

  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
