Job Description:

TorontoJobs.ca is working with a client in, a leading logistics company in their search for a Financial Analyst.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for analyzing the company’s financial and operating performance by completing and maintaining periodic financial and non-financial metrics and KPIs. The individual will provide support to the senior management team in decision-making by providing accurate strategic reports. 

Responsibilities include: 
  • Present analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
  • Produce periodic reports, including KPIs, financial and non-financial results and analytical metrics.
  • Complete Structured Query Language (SQL) database design and access
  • Implement rational database models using data types, SQL query writing and stored procedures
  • Examine and evaluate current business and system processes for potential areas for improvement
  • Partner efforts between Finance and Information Systems to support all business operations
  • Assist with development and testing of controls for internal processing
  • Create new reports and ensure accuracy of data and analysis
  • Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Financial Analysis or Public Accounting experience is required
  • CPA designation (or a CPA candidate)
  • Successful completion of post-secondary studies at a university level in the area of Business Administration, Computing and Financial Management would be considered an asset
  • Proven ability to work using Structured Query Language (SQL) is strongly preferred
  • Experience with application conversion and process re-engineering would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with WMS OR TMS software would be considered an asset
  • Detail-oriented, precise, and accurate
  • Excellent financial analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively as a member of a team
