TorontoJobs.ca is working with a non-profit organization, located in the West end, providing support for women, Two-Spirit, gender queer, trans, and non-binary folks and their children experiencing any form of violence..

The organization is on a search for a Development Manager. This one-year contract will cover for someone who is on maternity leave.

What to Expect in the Development Manager Role:
• Work from a feminist, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, gender inclusion, decolonizing, and harm reduction framework.
• Lead annual fundraising events and work closely with the Fundraising Committee and staff to bring these events to fruition.
• Maintain the Donor Perfect database system.
• Develop innovative grant proposals and applications as needed.
• Monitor, track and report on grant activities in accordance with grant agreements.
• Achieve annual fundraising targets and reports and manage expense budgets.
• Develop and write communication and fundraising materials such as direct mail campaigns, newsletters, e- communications as needed.
• Regularly update and maintain digital presence including agency website and social media pages.
• Identify and cultivate third-party events with an emphasis on promoting peer- to-peer fundraising.
• Maintain and oversee the volunteer engagement program.
• Provide first point of contact for all donors and prospects.
• Provide regular updates to the Executive Director about fundraising and community engagement activities relative to goals.
• Provide monthly reports regarding fundraising and community engagement activities to the Executive Director.
• Plan and engage in awareness building on social media to promote public education and foster understanding of the organization, its mission and vision; as well as issues surrounding Gender Based Violence (GBV).
• Utilize computer software including case management database system, Microsoft applications as required.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures as outlined by the organization to minimize risks.
• Participate in ensuring 24-7 back up supports for the 24 hours services as needed on a rotational basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Job Requirements:

• Related post-secondary degree and/or equivalent combination of other education and work experience; or at least 2-years related experience as a fundraising professional.
• Experience working in a social service/social justice organization and within a feminist, anti-racism and anti- oppression, harm reduction and disability justice framework.
• Understanding of gender-based violence as a complex social problem and the intersectionality of sexism, racism, classism, colonialism, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, sanism, etc on survivors and their children’s lived experience of violence.
• Versatile fundraising generalist, with a track record of securing sponsorships, leadership gifts, managing and/or overseeing annual appeals, events, stewardship, grant writing, and communications preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide information concisely and effectively to any audience or supporter.
• Excellent writing skills and experience writing in a range of formats, from online communications, grants, sponsorship proposals, direct mail and appeal letters preferred.
• Self-motivator and can work collaboratively; willing to pitch in and carry out all levels of the task at hand.
• Ability to work with deadlines and other conflicting priorities simultaneously with the ability to prioritize.
• Experience in community engagement and knowledge of using technology and social media (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) to reach target audiences is an asset.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of donor databases and email distribution systems (such as MailChimp, Constant Contact), HMTL, Wordpress and CSS.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, InDesign and desktop publishing an asset.
• CFRE designation is an asset.
