TorontoJobs.ca has established a new company in the recruitment space called Guhuza.com.
 
We are looking for a part-time VP of Investor Relations to join our team.
 
This role will be an integral part of the team and will be the primary investor contact focused on helping grow this new technology start-up. 
 
Responsibilities will span the development, implementation, and execution of the Investor Relations team’s goals.
 
The position reports to the President and is expected to be approximately 10-20 hours per month but will vary over time.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Develop and execute a strategic investor relations plan that is aligned with the company’s long-term goals with a focus on future shareholders, analysts, etc.
  • Develop an annual investor plan relations plan included detailed marketing plans
  • Working with our legal team to ensure the term sheet is appropriate
  • Make investor presentations to potential strategic investors
  • Ensure the pitch deck is updated as needed and make improvements as needed
  • Coordinate with the leadership team at TorontoJobs.ca to be on pitches that will require their involvement as/when needed
  • Serve as primary contact with the investor community (all shareholders, future investors, capital markets, IR media)
  • Is the ‘gate keeper’ between investors and management, so that only the pertinent inquiries are addressed by management
  • Connect with networks of angel investors – researching the right connections, opening new doors
  • Make introductions of qualified investors to the leadership team at TorontoJobs.ca
  • Answering investment related questions from potential investors
  • Manages the investor process
  • Scrutinizes potential investors for what they can bring to the table other than money
  • Ensuring Non-Disclosure Agreements are signed as needed
  • Handle investor inquiries
  • Manage the preparation of external communication materials (press releases, presentations, quarterly webcasts, etc.) and internal communications materials (memos to senior management, Board presentations, etc.)
  • Preparing presentations, scripts, news releases and Q&A for investor updates
  • Manage budgets, milestones, deadlines and metrics for success.
  • Assist with special projects as they arise
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements:

Skills Required
 
  • Knowledge of the tech investment sector including valuations
  • A network of existing angel investor connections
  • Ability to reach decision makers
  • Professionalism and expertise
  • Experience in making investor pitches
  • Knowledge of potential investors in the recruitment industry would be a significant asset (Canada and/or the United States)
  • Experience in raising capital in the HR or recruitment space would be a significant asset
  • Ten plus years of relevant work experience
  • Proven track record of working within the investment community
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of stock ownership, stock performance, research reports.
  • Experience with asset management, private equity, or institutional investors
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe skills
  • Deep knowledge of the capital markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting, MBA in finance preferred
  • Expertise in financial modeling and valuation methods used by analysts
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and has a passion for achieving success in all that they do
