Our client, a Mississauga based entrepreneurial CPA firm that's been around for over 35 years is looking to add an Assurance Manager to their growing team! This position has potential to lead into Partnership in the near future!

As a multi-disciplinary practice, they offer specialized value-added business solutions, as well as an in-house law firm for all your business and professional needs. They foster a dynamic and fun atmosphere, conducive to professional development and partnership opportunity. They are seeking an ambitious, partner in assurance or a manager with partner aspirations experienced Assurance Manager to join our growing team. The candidate will want to lead assurance engagements and aspire to becoming a partner within 18 months or so. This position can be the starting point to an amazing career with business savvy and experienced CPA’s providing mentoring.
 
Responsibilities
  • Canadian CPA designation with Public Accounting License or ability to quickly obtain the PAL. 
  • Independently plan and execute audit and review engagements for small to medium-sized clients with minimal supervision.
  • Public company audit experience and required knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
  • Supervise and manage junior staff members.
  • Thorough knowledge of ASPE, Generally Accepted Auditing and Review Standards.
  • Experience in tax planning and compliance is a distinct advantage.
  • Coordinating and managing workflow and deadlines in a busy assurance division with complex client groups.
  • Managing file budgets, staff performance, and training.
  • Interface with clients and help coordinate information flow.
  • Attend management meetings and provide reports on assurance division.
  • Identify general value-added services while executing audit and review engagements.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective management, mentorship, training, and delegation skills.      
  • Superior customer service, with the ability to understand the clients' business and needs.
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Canadian experience working in public practice accounting with minimum 3 years managing staff.
  • Experience working in a paperless environment is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in CaseWare, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Tax Prep, Excel and Word.
