Job Description:

Our client, an entrepreneurial CPA firm that's been around for over 35 years, is currently looking to add a Bookkeeping Manager to their growing team!  
 
Managerial roles & responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing a team of 3 or more staff, including conducting performance reviews, training, etc.
  • Coordinating and managing workflow and deadlines in a busy bookkeeping division with approx. 40 clients.
  • Managing file budgets, staff performance, and training.
  • Interface with clients and help coordinate information flow; including ensuring monthly deliverables are provided to clients.
  • Attend management meetings and provide reports on the Bookkeeping division.
Skills
  • Effective management, mentorship, training, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage budgets, deadlines, and multiple clients daily.
  • Tech-savvy and can quickly learn and adapt to new programs.
  • Well organized, detailed-orientated and precise.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
  • Understand the importance of proper communication between peers and customers.
  • Positive attitude, willing to learn.
  • Strong technical skills in CaseWare, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Tax Prep, Excel and Word. 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a public accounting firm.
  • Fully versed in the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly financial information, reconciliations, and government filings for a wide number of customers.
  • Worked in QBO, Xero and other cloud-based products and QB Desktop.
  • Knowledge in Hubdoc, Wagepoint, Plooto, Stripe and Shopify
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in working with Excel Pivot tables, V-look-up and Sum if formulas.
  • Knowledge in cash-flow projections, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in Government filings, HST, Payroll, Corporate Instalments, EHT and WSIB.
  • Access to transportation for off-site client visits.
  • Post-secondary Education - University or College.
