Our client, a well established and reptuable distribution company is looking to add a Product Conversions Technician to their team. This position is responsible for modifications of plumbing related products within their Canadian distribution centre. They will be working in a warehouse environment and using machinery/tools to actively add/remove parts in accordance to procedural conversions documentation. This position is also regularly involved with product returns testing, inspections, and repairs within the scope of our conversions area.
Key Responsibilities:
Product conversions and modifications (including tear downs, product and packaging repairs, product testing)
Control adjustments to key product conversions parts including regular cycle counts
Daily organization to meet the conversions schedule set form by DC Mgr. and Inventory Planner
Assist in creating conversions processes and documentation
Review past conversions documentation when called upon
Meet with and engage in questions from compliance authority visits, conversion audits
Communicate tooling and other conversions area needs to DC manager
Make decisions on product and parts returns in accordance to proper and accepted business practices
Identify and make suggestions for area improvements as necessary
Take calls and emails from other departments such as Inventory Planning, Sales and Customer Service related to conversions schedule and opportunities to convert
Follow rules set forth within other DC operational team leads
Communicate any product abnormalities (deviations) or equipment concerns to manager
Conversions area housekeeping, clean up and organization
Attend periodic in-house product training where applicable to improve knowledge base on the company's product line
Proven ability and comfort level in using tools replated to product conversions
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Competent with electronic tools of communications (email, excel reports, BOM documentation)
Physically fit and able to manage maneuvering of equipment using pallet trucks and overhead cranes
Ability to read and decipher product specification sheets and other documentation
Valid lift truck licence (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to communication with and assist other departments
Solid experience in daily planning and goal achievement
Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with colleagues
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
Strong written communication skills
Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
High level of integrity and work ethic
