About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing accounting practice specializing in U.S. personal and corporate tax services.

Due to continued growth and an upcoming retirement within the team, we are seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Manager to join the firm in a fully remote capacity.

This is a senior-level technical review role focused on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality across a high volume of tax engagements. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in U.S. taxation, enjoys detailed review work, and can provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff.

The successful candidate will work closely with the firm’s leadership team and play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of tax filings across the practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review U.S. individual tax returns (Form 1040)
  • Review U.S. corporate tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065)
  • Review supporting schedules and related financial information
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all filings
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tax preparers
  • Support workflow management and review deadlines
  • Identify tax issues and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Assist in improving internal processes and quality control procedures
  • Act as a senior technical resource for complex tax matters

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong experience in U.S. personal and corporate taxation
  • Proven experience reviewing tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065)
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax regulations and compliance
  • Experience working in a high-volume tax environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred

  • CPA designation (U.S. CPA strongly preferred)
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior tax staff
  • Experience with complex individual or corporate tax files
  • Familiarity with modern tax software platforms

Technology

The firm utilizes cloud-based tax preparation systems, CCH tax software, QuickBooks, and secure client document portals.

This is a fully remote position within the United States.
