MOBILE APP DEVELOPER (iOS & Android)

Guhuza is building a faster, more human way for employers and job seekers to connect.
Our real-time interview marketplace helps candidates and employers move from matching to live video interviews quickly through AI matching, instant interview invitations, waiting rooms, and real-time communication.
We are looking for a Mobile App Developer to help maintain and enhance our native iOS and Android applications.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a remote contract role initially expected to be three months, with the possibility of extension and ongoing work.
You will work across both of our native mobile applications:
• iOS: Swift / SwiftUI
• Android: Kotlin
We are looking for someone experienced with both platforms. Candidates with strong experience in one framework who have a genuine interest and ability to work on the other are encouraged to apply.

• User registration and profiles
• Job matching
• Push notifications
• Interview invitations and waiting rooms
• Live video interviews
• Chat and real-time communication
• App performance and reliability
TECHNOLOGY STACK
iOS:
Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, Alamofire, Firebase, Twilio Video, Socket.IO, Azure Communication Services, Keychain
Android:
Kotlin, XML layouts, ViewBinding, Coroutines, Hilt, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Twilio Video, Socket.IO, Azure Communication Services
Shared Technologies:
REST APIs, JSON, authentication, third-party SDK integrations
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain native iOS and Android applications.
• Build and improve mobile features following existing architecture.
• Troubleshoot crashes, performance issues, and device-specific bugs.
• Improve reliability of push notifications and real-time interview features.
• Integrate and maintain services including Twilio Video, Firebase, Socket.IO, and Azure Communication Services.
• Prepare and release builds through App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
• Work closely with development, product, design, and testing teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of professional mobile development experience.
• Experience with Swift and/or Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and lifecycle.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and third-party SDKs.
• Experience with push notifications (APNs / Firebase).
• Strong debugging skills across multiple devices and operating systems.
• Experience with Git and remote development workflows.
• Ability to work independently and manage contract deliverables.
Nice to have:
• Twilio Video or WebRTC experience
• Socket.IO or real-time communication experience
• Azure Communication Services experience
• Mobile analytics and crash reporting experience
• App Store and Google Play publishing experience
INITIAL PRIORITIES
The successful candidate will help improve reliability and user experience in our existing mobile apps, including:
• Resolving push notification delivery issues, including interview invitations.
• Improving registration and profile completion flows.
• Reviewing Apple registration, resume upload, and “no resume” registration options.
• Improving email and phone verification processes.
• Reviewing account settings, password updates, profile management, and notification preferences.
• Addressing device-specific bugs and improving overall app stability.
