Job Description:
Our client, a food manufacturing company located in North York, is looking at add a Production Manager to their team!
This position will oversee all production lines and staff within the shift to ensure and maximize efficiencies. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager. This position will not only track labour and production yields but also be hands on in troubleshooting where required. Be an integral part of Supply Chain through coordination with Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure processing lines are prepared and fully operational to conduct pre-operational checks daily
Review daily and weekly production plans with the Director of Operations to ensure maximized utilization of resources, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to sustain a safe work environment
Track labour and production yields daily
Manage all required machinery including depositing machines, mixers, packaging machines
Partner with Quality Assurance and Sanitation to ensure all areas are in compliance with production and safety processes
Meet or exceed all production, safety and quality goals through continuous improvement
Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a high level of control and review
Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility
Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
Planning shipments including creating and updating shipping schedules
Oversees the Transfer of all products between all in house and 3
rd
party warehouses
Monitoring shipments in transit
Troubleshooting any logistical issues that arise
Preparing reports on logistics performance measures
Maintaining a logistics database
Inventory maintenance
Assists in Production Planning
Acting as a point of contact for customers and carriers
Assisting with QA to ensure products are shipped with best quality as possible
Oversees the process to supply Samples to customers
Contacting Transportation Companies to ensure best rates are established within Canada & US
Coordinate the dispatch of transportation companies for Pick Ups and Deliveries
Coordinate customs clearance and deliveries of inbound shipments
Preparing reports on logistics performance measures (roll up to Supply Chain KPI’s)
Job Requirements:
Post-secondary education
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery experience is preferred)
Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP & O.H.S.A is required.
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to multitask
Strong attention to detail
