The Opportunity:

Our TorontoJobs.ca client, a Veterinary clinic in York, is looking to add a Clinic Manager (Not-for-Profit) to their growing team. 

 

Reporting to the Chief Veterinary Officer, the Clinic Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinic, leading and supporting staff, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of service and care.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Supporting staff and volunteers through skill development, positive guidance, and ongoing training on operational protocols to foster high performance and ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and motivating team members, while overseeing staff compliance with HR policies and managing staff development.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership by setting clear expectations, providing mentorship, and encouraging a collaborative team environment.
  • Overseeing budget planning, resource allocation, and managing clinic operations, including program delivery, revenue, supply ordering, and invoice approval.
  • Maintaining accurate records, inputting data, generating reports, and assisting with protocol development.
  • Implementing organizational goals, preparing budgets, managing resources within guidelines, and coordinating with finance and development for grants and fundraising.
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with team members across different locations to promote teamwork and organizational success.
  • Identifying opportunities for operational improvements and leading initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Fostering a positive and motivating workplace culture that encourages continuous improvement and professional growth.

Job Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A proven leader demonstrating strong leadership qualities, with over 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Customer-focused, comfortable working in a high-paced environment with multiple service streams.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated problem solver with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of motivating, delegating to, and managing staff effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in multi-tasking and computer skills.
  • Educational background as a registered technician or equivalent, with active professional membership preferred.

 

Complimentary Experience:

  • Educational background as a registered veterinary technician or equivalent, with active professional membership preferred.
  • Clinic or animal care experience would be considered an asset.
